Boo-ilding nightmares: A Halloween guide for Arizona's custom home builders

Image generated by Adobe Firefly

Greetings, intrepid builders and architects of dreams and nightmares alike! As the witching hour approaches and jack-o'-lanterns flicker to life, we at Andersen Professional Building Services have concocted a spine-tingling brew of advice to keep your construction projects from turning into a real-life horror story. So gather 'round, and let's explore some hair-raising myths and monstrous mistakes to avoid this Halloween season!

  • The curse of the haunted hardware: Beware the rusty hinges and creaky locks that whisper tales of woe! While it might seem tempting to incorporate "authentic" haunted house fixtures, remember that quality window and door materials from trusted suppliers like Andersen are your best defense against ghostly drafts and phantom energy bills. Don't let your clients' homes become a portal to the netherworld!

  • Window to another dimension: Legend has it that some builders, in their haste to complete projects, install windows backwards, creating portals to alternate realities. While interdimensional travel might seem like a unique selling point, most homeowners prefer their views to be of this world. Stick to properly installed windows by the APBS Installation Team for crystal-clear views of the mortal realm only.

  • The thermal nightmare on Elm Street: Poor window construction can turn any Arizona home into a sweltering inferno by day and a bone-chilling crypt by night. Don't let your clients suffer through temperature swings worthy of a horror movie. Check out Andersen®’s glass options, like SmartSun™ glass, to help keep the indoor climate as stable as a vampire's heartbeat.

While these tales of construction terror might send shivers down your spine, fear not! At APBS, we're here to support you through every phase of your project. And remember, with Andersen® products, we’re not just selling and installing windows and doors – we’re creating barriers against the bumps in the night and portals to spectacular Arizona views.

This Halloween, let's raise a glass to building homes that are a treat, not a trick. After all, in the world of custom home building, the only thing scarier than a haunted house is an unsatisfied client.

For more spine-tingling tips and treats, or to explore our range of Andersen® products that are sure to ward off evil spirits (and drafts), don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help you bring your homebuilding projects to life – no dark magic required!

Meeting Chris, Jordan, and Chad during my interview confirmed that this was the right place for me. I was impressed by their warmth and professionalism, and I knew I wanted to be part of such a wonderful team.

What knick knacks do you keep on your desk? There’s always a variety of drinks on my desk. Hot, iced, carbonated, water, etc. I guess I just like to have options.

Fun fact about you: Most of my childhood and into my teenage years were spent in pools competing in synchronized swimming competitions around the U.S.
